The Wholesale Market of Brussels, Belgium’s leading wholesale market, is dedicated to the distribution primarily of agri-food products intended for wholesale and retail professionals, grocers and supermarkets, caterers and chefs, collective kitchens, as well as street vendors, sourced from all over the country.
The Wholesale Market of Brussels, called the ‘belly of Brussels’ has existed for several centuries. For decades it was held at the Grand-Place of Brussels and on nearby streets. Since 1973, the Wholesale Market has been held at Quai des Usines, alongside the canal.
In the halls of the Wholesale Market, more than 100 merchants offer every night a wide range of products including fruit and vegetables, meat, poultry, game, fish and shellfish, cheese and other dairy products, general food products and consumer products, wine and other drinks, deep-frozen products, flowers and plants.
The Brussels Wholesale Market has been the beating heart of Brussels’ fresh food trade, connecting wholesalers, retailers, and food professionals with high-quality products.
Mabru is the non-profit organisation created in 1992 by the City of Brussels, that is charged with promoting, developing and managing the activities of the Wholesale Market of Brussels.
